Donald Jackson

Chairman and Founder

Founder and Chairman of Parkview Capital, Don has over thirty years in senior executive positions in a broad range of industries in Canada, the United States and internationally. His career includes both entrepreneurial and corporate involvement.

Don was Chairman of Vector Aerospace Corporation until the Company sold in July 2011 to EADS for C$645 million. He was Chairman of the Special Committee during the sale process. He served as Vector’s Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer from 2004, at which point Vector’s equity value was $35MM.

As Chairman, Don was the strategic force behind the acquisition and building of Capital Tool and Design Limited, which sold to a private equity group, yielding extraordinary returns to shareholders.

Prior to founding Parkview, Don was President and CEO of Laidlaw Inc. and held senior executive positions at Trimac Limited and Tricil Limited. He founded Rentway Canada, a business he subsequently sold to Trimac.

Don has served on the Boards of Vector Aerospace (TSX), Northstar Inc. (TSX), Laidlaw Inc. (TSX, NYSE), ADT Inc. (NYSE), Attwoods Plc. (LSE), Trimac Limited (TSX), Derlan Industries (TSX), Tritech Precision (TSX), and several private company boards. He is honorary member of the Ivey Business School Advisory Board and has served as a member of the Board of Governors at Ryerson University where he was Chairman of the finance committee. Don has also served as a board member for the Shaw Festival.

Don holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta and an MBA from The University of Western Ontario Ivey School of Business. He has taken advanced management courses at Harvard and IMEDE.
